Among the ridiculous amount of fall game releases is the PS3-exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The original Uncharted, developed by Naughty Dog, is one of my very favorite games on the Playstation 3, so you can imagine my excitement with the announcement of the sequel. This anticipation was compounded by a few excellent trailers released for the game recently
I briefly played the multiplayer beta, and while it was enjoyable, I like the Uncharted franchise most for its superb voice acting, cinematic gameplay and story. The demo level at PAX was the same from the E3 gameplay videos released earlier, and the game plays and feels exactly like its predecessor. This is definitely a pro, as the original Uncharted was already so polished, there was little to complain about (other than the enemy AI). Ten minutes of gameplay and a few pieces of schwag have left me more excited than ever to pick up Uncharted 2: Among Thieves this October. I also got a chance to enter into the drawing to win the ridiculously over-the-top “Fortune Hunter” editionx of the game, complete with a replica “Phurba Dagger”, one of the more useful bonuses in a limited edition bundle.
Ultimately, it’s developers like Naughty Dog that make me proud to own a Playstation 3.
