Almost three years ago in May of 2007, I purchased the Nintendo Wii. I was oh-so-excited at the possibilities Nintendo’s new innovative system would bring. By the end of that year I had procured and enjoyed Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Mario Strikers Charged, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy. Including Wii Sports, I had six games for the Wii. That same year I only bought three games for the Xbox 360. The Wii started strong in 2008 with the release of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and then………………………………………………………………………… nothing. Brawl is the last Wii game I’ve acquired in nearly two years. Quarter 4. As Jeff has already pointed out, this could be a challenging quarter. However, for some of us, this season is bringing on a whole new level of excitement. I am talking about, of course, the girly gamer’s Q4 picks. While Jeff’s list contains some gems that I myself am quite excited about (namely Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3 GOTY) there were a few names that slipped through the cracks that I’m looking forward to. I have just gotten home from picking up my copy of 5th Cell’s highly anticipated Nintendo DS game, Scribblenauts. I have been waiting many long months for this moment. My anticipation grows with each passing moment, the plastic wrap cannot come off of the case quickly enough. Luckily, the cellophane gives way to my iron will, and the case is mine. Scribblenauts feels so pristine in my hand, the gem I have been spelunking for years to find. And now it’s mine. The exuberance is near-overwhelming, my pulse at breakneck speeds. Before I insert the cartridge into my DS, I take several deep and calming breaths, and don my pre-order bonus, the much-discussed Rooster Hat. All is right with the world. Read the full story

Woe is me, ladies and gentlemen. I officially have taken on too many games for myself to conquer. I realize I said this in a previous post, but I have only added to the pile these past weeks. Along with the games I already was invested in (Shadow Complex, Red Faction: Guerrilla expansion, Spider-Man, etc.), I have purchased several more games that will be tickling my fancy over the coming months.
